Is Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride comedogenic?
No. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride isn't considered pore-clogging, and we read it as safe to use on acne-prone skin. That doesn't make it right for everyone, but congestion isn't the thing to watch for with it.
Why we read it this way
Caprylic/capric triglyceride is made by stripping coconut or palm oil down to two medium-chain fatty acids and rebuilding them into a light, stable oil. The lauric acid that makes raw coconut oil a problem is removed in that process, and the finished ingredient is not on our pore-clogging references.
Its coconut origin is why people expect a flag. It behaves very differently from the oil it started as, though a heavily oil-based product can still feel like too much on very oily skin.
One ingredient rarely tells the whole story. Run the whole label and see everything in the product at once.
