How we read it
Not a pore-clogger. Considered safe for acne-prone skin.
Is Argan Oil comedogenic?
No. Argan Oil isn't considered pore-clogging, and we read it as safe to use on acne-prone skin. That doesn't make it right for everyone, but congestion isn't the thing to watch for with it.
Why we read it this way
Argan oil is pressed from the kernels of the argan tree and works as a mid-weight emollient that softens skin and adds shine to hair. It carries a mix of oleic and linoleic acids along with natural vitamin E. We read argan oil as not pore-clogging.
The nuance
A product named for argan oil often holds only a little of it, with silicones or other oils doing most of the work. Our reading covers the oil itself, and the rest of the label is a separate question.
Where it shows up
Face oils, hair serums, leave-in conditioners and heat-styling products, along with hand creams, cuticle oils and lip balms.
