How we read it

Not pore-clogging

Not a pore-clogger. Considered safe for acne-prone skin.

Is Kukui Nut Oil comedogenic?

No. Kukui Nut Oil isn't considered pore-clogging, and we read it as safe to use on acne-prone skin. That doesn't make it right for everyone, but congestion isn't the thing to watch for with it.

Why we read it this way

Kukui nut oil is a light, highly unsaturated oil rich in linoleic acid, the fatty acid profile most often tolerated on acne-prone skin. It does not appear on the pore-clogging references we curate against.

The nuance

Because it is so unsaturated it oxidizes quickly, and an oxidized oil is far more likely to irritate. Freshness and packaging matter more here than with a stable oil.

One ingredient rarely tells the whole story. Run the whole label and see everything in the product at once.
