How we read it
Not a pore-clogger. Considered safe for acne-prone skin.
Is Pumpkin Seed Oil comedogenic?
No. Pumpkin Seed Oil isn't considered pore-clogging, and we read it as safe to use on acne-prone skin. That doesn't make it right for everyone, but congestion isn't the thing to watch for with it.
Why we read it this way
Pumpkin seed oil is a deep green to amber oil pressed from pumpkin seeds, used as an emollient that softens without much weight. Its fatty acids are mostly linoleic and oleic. We read pumpkin seed oil as not pore-clogging.
The nuance
Pumpkin seed oil is flagged on some lists and not on ours. The unrefined oil is dark with a nutty smell, so formulas tend to carry a modest amount, and where it sits on the label tells more than the name alone.
Where it shows up
Eye creams, facial serums and oils, scalp treatments and hair oils, plus some lip balms and body butters.
