How we read it
Not a pore-clogger. Considered safe for acne-prone skin.
Is Colloidal Oatmeal comedogenic?
No. Colloidal Oatmeal isn't considered pore-clogging, and we read it as safe to use on acne-prone skin. That doesn't make it right for everyone, but congestion isn't the thing to watch for with it.
Why we read it this way
Colloidal oatmeal is finely milled whole oat, a recognized skin protectant used to calm itching and irritation. It is mostly starch and protein with very little oil, and our references do not flag it.
It is not the same as oat oil or oat kernel oil, which are the lipid fractions. If a label lists one of those instead, that is a different ingredient.
One ingredient rarely tells the whole story. Run the whole label and see everything in the product at once.
