How we read it
Not a pore-clogger. Considered safe for acne-prone skin.
Is Rosehip Extract comedogenic?
No. Rosehip Extract isn't considered pore-clogging, and we read it as safe to use on acne-prone skin. That doesn't make it right for everyone, but congestion isn't the thing to watch for with it.
Why we read it this way
Rosehip extract is made from the fruit of the dog rose and is used for the vitamin C and other antioxidants the fruit is known for. It is a different material from rosehip oil, which is pressed from the hips and their seeds. We read it as not pore-clogging.
The nuance
People often mean rosehip oil when they say rosehip, and the two are separate ingredients on a label. We read both as not pore-clogging, though the oil is a true facial oil and the extract adds almost nothing oily to a formula.
Where it shows up
It shows up in brightening serums, antioxidant toners and essences, sheet masks, and day creams sold around vitamin C.
